Daryl Hall Starts the West Coast Leg of his First Solo Tour in a Decade

Legendary rocker and renaissance man Daryl Hall kicked off the West Coast leg of his 2022 solo tour at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA., on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

“This is the first place I ever played in this city, way back in 1975,” Hall told the crowd.

Hall tapped his longtime friend and collaborator Todd Rundgren, a fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, as the special guest performer to open both legs of the tour. Their relationship goes as far back as 1974 when Rundgren produced the Hall & Oates album “War Babies.”

This tour supports Hall’s solo retrospective BeforeAfter, which landed on April 1, 2022, via Legacy Recordings and marks Hall’s first solo tour in a decade.

BeforeAfter spans Hall’s five solo albums and introduces six never-before-released recordings from the Live from Daryl’s House series, including featured performances from Rundgren and Dave Stewart, Monte Montgomery, and others.

“I picked this collection of songs from my solo albums because I feel they encapsulate certain periods of my career,” says Hall. “It also shows the diversity of working with collaborators like Robert Fripp or Dave Stewart. And having some tracks from LFDH on it really makes the compilation complete.”

Before the West Coast run of shows, Hall opened the Live Nation tour in April with performances at several top-tier venues on the other side of the U.S., including Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The tour continues through May with stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, and Tulsa, before a final performance at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, TX., on May 22.
